QA Automation Lead

We are looking for a QA Automation Lead to join a technology startup that helps businesses, government institutions, and large enterprises conduct vertically intelligent (VI) transformations through industry-specific software and services. We have a selenium grid with several layers of automation testing, however, it needs additional work and an overriding strategy to ensure we’re getting the best possible results.

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in software testing (at least 3 years in Automation)
  • Perfect understanding of the SDLC and testing process
  • Perfect understanding of test levels and test types
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium Grid
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • High level of responsibility and problem ownership

Responsibilities

  • Guide the writing, maintenance, and continual improvements to our suite of automation tests 
  • Work with the development teams to identify new areas for potential automation and providing feedback 
  • Stay informed of the state-of-the-art with regards to automation frameworks and tooling 
  • Identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs
  • Perform/implement thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved 
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements 
  • Track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts)
  • Design test environments (e.g. Sharepoint or Office 365) and source/generate test data as needed
  • Help us minimise ad hoc manual testing
  • Disseminate information to the wider team

Project Description

Full-scale privacy and governance platform – discovery and search tool. The tool is built in Java and uses Lucene and Solr for search capabilities and has built certain connectors to search structured and unstructured data in Sharepoint, Active Directory, Google Drive, One Drive surface areas. The plan is to scale this out to other connectors (eg into CRMs, ERP, SaaS based tools and others) and conducting AI based automated remediation and classification once the data has been discovered.

The engineering team and product manager are in the UK, working in Agile.
