At Diversido, we help startups and small businesses create engaging gamified solutions to attract and retain clients. With our deep understanding of user psychology, game mechanics, and app development, we tailor our expertise to build apps for a wide range of industries, including healthcare, e-learning, retail, and more.
We can create game-like business apps from scratch, add gamification features to existing solutions to boost retention and motivation, and design interventions that encourage users to build new habits or change their usual behaviour patterns.
If you’re considering building an app with either explicit gamification (a game with a non-game purpose) or implicit gamification (an app that uses game elements), we’re here to help!
We are responsible for full-cycle development — from shaping your idea and game design to creating a great UI/UX and implementing it across different platforms.
If you already have an app but want to boost user retention, motivation, and achievements, turn your users into brand ambassadors, or just make your app more fun — we are a few clicks away! Gamified elements can be added to your existing product without major changes to its architecture or code.
Using a scientific approach can make a big difference for apps that help people change their habits, adopt new behaviours, or improve their lifestyles. We use the COM-B model from UCL to identify the target behaviour, understand people's abilities, opportunities, and motivation, pinpoint key factors for change, and suggest effective interventions.
While gamification and human-focused design can be applied to any industry, we specialise in those that inspire positive change, promote a healthier, happier lifestyle, or help people learn new skills.
Gamification is a fantastic tool to encourage healthy habits, stay positive, and be consistent with check-ups and medical tests. It can also help motivate children to complete necessary tasks, support rehabilitation after injuries, and much more!
Learning doesn't have to be boring! Gamification can make it more engaging by creating a sense of achievement and progress, motivating regular activities, and making learning fun and memorable. It’s effective for both kids and adult education, helping people collaborate, compete, and enjoy the process of learning.
You don't have to redesign your entire app to take advantage of gamification. By understanding your goals and the experience you want your users to have, we can suggest effective techniques with minimal changes to your product.
Take a look at some of the projects we have empowered with gamification:
Gamification
Battle of Wits is a brain training app that empowers users to sharpen their cognitive skills. Set in a magical world, players complete puzzles to recover stolen pages of the Sacred Book and save the world. The only way for gamers to succeed is to answer questions correctly, which decreases enemies’ HP. Our contributions to this project include game concept and design, art assets and UI, WebGL client implementation using Unity 3D, and third-party API integration. We also integrated leaderboards and achievement badges to incentivise users to stay engaged longer.
Gamification
Miro is a brain health monitoring app with 15 games designed to stimulate and track patients' cognitive, emotional, and motor functions. These games enable physicians to assess the functioning of their patients' brains. Together with Miro's founders, we defined what they wanted to achieve with gamification. Afterwards, we thoroughly researched eye-tracking and speech-recognition technologies to identify how they could impact our hypotheses. On the development side, we supported Miro with numerous services, including API creation and integration, concept art, 2D art, and animation services. As a result, Miro is easy to use and provides comprehensive monitoring capabilities. Patients and physicians can download it on their iPads and use it anywhere, anytime.
Gamification
Happy Mind is another gamification-centered application we have brought to life. Featuring elements like missions, star badges, rewards systems, and leaderboards, this game trains users to focus on positives instead of negatives and opportunities instead of obstacles. People who use Happy Mind report alleviated anxiety, reduced fear of social situations, improved work performance, higher self-esteem, and healthier eating habits, among others. At the time of writing, Happy Mind is available for both iOS and Android.
Gamification
Bodies Done Right is the number one health and fitness app for anyone looking to lose weight, gain muscle, or tone up, especially without expensive equipment. One of its best components is its Wellbeing Program, which supports users in training with educational videos, wellness journals, recipes and gamified challenges, quizzes, nutritional logs, and workouts. The platform's point and cashback system also incentivises players to be consistent with their routines.
